If prostate cancer has spread to the bones, treatment is useless?

When prostate cancer has spread, treatment usually starts with hormone therapy, often combined with newer tablets that block testosterone's effects more completely, and sometimes chemotherapy. Further options include radioactive medicines that target cancer in the bones, bone-strengthening medicines, and radiotherapy to relieve painful areas. With these, many men live well for years.
