Diagnosis and investigations

Myth #06 · Diagnosis & investigations

A normal calcium level rules out multiple myeloma?

Myth #08 · Diagnosis & investigations

A normal routine blood test excludes myeloma?

Myth #09 · Diagnosis & investigations

Finding an abnormal protein in the blood always means cancer that needs treatment?

Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and some cases of smouldering myeloma don't need immediate treatment. Risk assessment and monitoring are essential.
