In 2014, Chiramana Ramachandra Reddy passed away with a quiet wish — that the land he owned in Nellore would one day serve the people of this district. He imagined a hospital where families could find serious medical help without leaving the support of home.

For twelve years, that wish remained a responsibility. Patients who travelled long distances, families who stretched their savings, and neighbours who needed a trusted hand shaped every decision as the idea slowly became a hospital.

On July 5, 2026, CR Reddy Super Speciality Hospital opens its doors with one hundred beds, a dedicated bone marrow transplant unit, surgical oncology services, and multiple super-speciality departments. Bearing his name and guided by the values he cherished, the hospital stands as a promise fulfilled.

Can Cancer Be Cured? A Realistic, Honest Answer

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Patients Ask

Honest answers to the questions most patients have when they first come to us.

Do all cancers require chemotherapy? +

No. Treatment depends entirely on the type of cancer, its stage, and molecular characteristics. Some cancers are best treated with surgery, others with targeted therapy or immunotherapy. Chemotherapy is one of many tools — not a default for every patient. A thorough evaluation determines the most appropriate approach.

Is immunotherapy available in Nellore? +

Yes. Immunotherapy — including checkpoint inhibitors — is available at CR Reddy Super Speciality Hospital. Eligibility depends on the cancer type and specific biomarkers. Dr. Haritha will evaluate whether immunotherapy is appropriate based on your individual tumour profile.

When is targeted therapy used instead of chemotherapy? +

Targeted therapy is used when a cancer has a specific mutation or molecular marker that a targeted drug can attack. It is available for certain lung cancers (EGFR, ALK), breast cancers (HER2), and several blood cancers. Molecular testing of the tumour is needed first to determine eligibility.

Can I get a second opinion without travelling to Hyderabad or Chennai? +

Yes. You can share your reports — biopsy results, PET scans, blood tests, and previous treatment records — via WhatsApp for review by Dr. Haritha. A detailed written opinion will be provided. Many patients across Andhra Pradesh use this service before deciding on their treatment path.

What should I bring for my first consultation? +

English  ·  తెలుగు (Telugu)  ·  Tamil  ·  Hindi

Are blood cancers curable? +

Many blood cancers are highly treatable and some are curable. Certain types of leukemia and lymphoma have excellent cure rates with modern chemotherapy and immunotherapy protocols. Others are managed as chronic conditions with good quality of life. The answer depends on the specific diagnosis, subtype, and timing of treatment.

When should I seek medical attention for possible cancer? +

Seek evaluation if you notice: a persistent oral ulcer or white patch lasting more than 2 weeks, unexplained weight loss, blood in stool or urine, a breast lump, persistent cough lasting more than 3 weeks, swelling in the neck, abnormal vaginal bleeding, or unusual fatigue with bruising. Early evaluation does not mean cancer — but early diagnosis always improves outcomes.

Can cancer treatment be done in Nellore, or do I need to travel? +

Most cancer treatments — chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, and surgical oncology — can be fully delivered at CR Reddy Super Speciality Hospital in Nellore. Patients from Tirupati, Ongole, Kavali, Gudur, Chittoor, and Kadapa routinely receive complete treatment here without travelling to Hyderabad or Chennai.
