Ewing sarcoma can be cured by surgery alone?

Ewing sarcoma is treated as a disease of the whole body, because microscopic spread is likely even when scans are clear. Treatment usually begins with several months of combination chemotherapy, followed by surgery, radiotherapy or both to treat the main tumour, and then more chemotherapy. Adults with Ewing sarcoma need the same full treatment as children.
