If colorectal cancer spreads to the liver, cure is impossible?

Colorectal cancer is unusual: when it has spread to only a limited part of the liver, the deposits can often be removed by surgery, or destroyed with ablation, usually alongside chemotherapy. A good proportion of these patients live for many years, and some are cured. Chemotherapy can sometimes shrink deposits enough to make surgery possible.
