After kidney cancer surgery, no further follow-up is needed?

Follow-up is tailored to the risk of the cancer returning, and may include scans, kidney function checks and care of blood pressure and heart health.

Kidney cancer can return, sometimes many years later, in the kidney area or elsewhere, such as the lungs or bones. Follow-up scans are scheduled according to the risk. After kidney surgery, kidney function, blood pressure and other heart risk factors also need looking after.
