There are four main types. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is the most common cancer in children. Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) is more common in adults, especially older adults. Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) mainly affects older adults, and chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) often affects people in middle age.
