Immunotherapy and targeted therapy are the same as chemotherapy?

Antibody treatments, antibody–drug conjugates, checkpoint inhibitors, bispecific antibodies and cell therapies work in different ways from chemotherapy, and have different side effects.

Chemotherapy kills fast-dividing cells. Antibodies such as rituximab attach to a marker on lymphoma cells and help the immune system destroy them. Antibody–drug conjugates deliver chemotherapy directly to the cancer cells. Checkpoint inhibitors release the brakes on the immune system. Bispecific antibodies and CAR-T cells direct the body's own T-cells against the lymphoma. Each has its own side effects, such as infusion reactions, infections or immune-related effects.
