Robotic surgery is a way of performing a prostatectomy through small cuts, using instruments controlled by the surgeon. It may mean less blood loss and a shorter hospital stay. But studies have not shown that it controls cancer better than standard surgery, or than radiotherapy for suitable men. The surgeon's experience matters more than the machine.
