Every child with rhabdomyosarcoma receives chemotherapy. Surgery is used when the tumour can be removed without major loss of function or appearance; when it can't, radiotherapy is used instead or as well. For example, rhabdomyosarcoma around the eye is usually treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, without removing the eye.
