Radiotherapy can't help patients with stage IV cancer?

Radiotherapy can relieve pain, bleeding, pressure on nerves and other symptoms. For selected people with limited spread, focused radiotherapy may also help control the disease for a long time.

Short courses of radiotherapy, often one to five sessions, are very effective at relieving pain from cancer in the bones, and can stop bleeding and relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves. For people with only a few areas of spread, stereotactic radiotherapy can sometimes give long-lasting control.
