A stomach biopsy makes cancer spread?

During an endoscopy, tiny pieces of the stomach lining are taken with small forceps passed through the endoscope. It is painless, because the stomach lining has no pain nerves of this kind. The samples tell doctors whether there is cancer, what type it is, and whether H. pylori is present.
