Bone-strengthening medicines are unnecessary once cancer treatment begins?

Myeloma weakens bones, and bone-strengthening medicines lower the risk of fractures, pain and high calcium. They are given as a drip or injection, usually monthly at first. Rarely, they can damage the jawbone, especially after tooth extractions, so dental care is important.
