Palliative care and hospice care are exactly the same?

Palliative care can accompany treatment at any stage. Hospice or end-of-life care focuses on comfort when a person is nearing the end of life, although definitions and services vary.

Palliative care is a broad approach that can start at diagnosis of a serious illness, alongside cancer treatment. Hospice, or end-of-life care, is a part of palliative care, focused on comfort and dignity in the last weeks or months of life, at home, in a hospice or in hospital.
