Chemotherapy is necessary for every thyroid cancer patient?

Most thyroid cancers are treated with surgery, sometimes followed by radioactive iodine, and thyroid hormone tablets. For the small number of advanced cancers that stop responding to radioactive iodine, targeted tablets that block specific growth signals can control the disease. Chemotherapy is mainly used for anaplastic thyroid cancer.
